About
About The Crown ... The Crown is a traditional, village pub aiming to serve excellent quality real ales and provide a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere in which to drink them. There are two bars, giving us the opportunity to have music in one and not the other, and a separate pool room. Outside there is a large garden with a petanque terrain, and a smoking shelter with tables and chairs for those who still dare. We are dog-friendly and provide dog biscuits and fresh water for canine companions.
We have gained a reputation for keeping great real ales and have a wide selection of guest beers from local and national brewers including Sharps, Adnams, Brains, Caledonian, Dark Star, Surrey Hills, Waylands, Dorking and Itchen Valley. Please see the guest beer tab on the main menu for updated information. Regular ales alternate between Shepherd Neame's 'Spitfire' and Wells 'Bombardier', Bateman's 'XB', Adnams Bitter and Ringwood Best Bitter. Our lagers include Carling, Fosters and Stella Artois and also on tap are Guinness, John Smiths Smooth and Strongbow cider. Wines are from bottles (not boxes) and customers can select from a Merlot, Rioja or Cabernet Sauvignon for the reds, Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc or Chardonnay for the whites and a White Zinfandel Rose. We actively encourage product suggestions from our customers and if you have any, please let us know.
The Crown is very much a village pub and an integral part of the community. Events throughout the year include beer festivals, live music, boules melees, barbeques, hog roasts, halloween fancy dress parties and cocktail evenings. As we have two separate bars, it is possible to hire one side of the pub for private events. Forthcoming events can be viewed on the events section of this website.
We look forward to welcoming you at The Crown.
